Manager Will Venable confirmed the severity after imaging, projecting a 4-6 week absence. Chicago officially placed Murakami on the 10-day IL and called up infielder Jordan Gonzalez to fill the roster spot. Miguel Vargas shifted to first base to cover for the remainder of the game.
