Kahnle Eyes Exit From Red Sox Org If Not Called Up By June 1
The veteran reliever has been dominant at Triple-A but remains unpromotd, with a looming opt-out deadline forcing Boston's hand.

Reliever Tommy Kahnle has a June 1 opt-out clause in his minor league deal with Boston and is expected to pursue other opportunities if not added to the MLB roster. He previously triggered an upward mobility clause on May 1 but stayed in the organization. At Triple-A Worcester, the 36-year-old has posted a 1.40 ERA over 19.1 innings with 14 straight scoreless appearances. Interim manager Chad Tracy acknowledged the front office is aware of the upcoming deadline.
