La Sorsa Triggers Upward Mobility Clause Again With Pirates
The left-hander is forcing Pittsburgh's hand for the second time this year, opening a window for any MLB club to claim him a roster spot.
Pirates minor league lefty Joe La Sorsa will exercise an upward mobility clause in his contract, requiring Pittsburgh to offer him to all 29 other clubs. If any team wants him, the Pirates must trade La Sorsa to that club or add him to their own active roster. La Sorsa went through this same process at the end of Spring Training and went unclaimed. He has posted a 3.60 ERA over 25 innings at Triple-A Indianapolis but carries a modest 20.8% strikeout rate.
