Luis Severino threw only 23 pitches before leaving his Friday start against the Yankees after a trainer visit on the mound. The arm soreness is not new — Severino reported right triceps tightness following his May 21 outing. The A's had already pushed his next start back to allow extra rest, but the problem persisted. The team subsequently placed him on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder strain.
