Philadelphia cleared a 40-man roster spot by designating reliever Zach Pop for assignment following his recovery from a right calf strain.
The Phillies reinstated Zach Pop from the 15-day injured list and immediately designated him for assignment. Pop had been sidelined since mid-April with a right calf strain and had recently begun a rehab assignment. The roster move was made to create a 40-man spot for Max Lazar, who was activated from the 60-day IL. Pop appeared in seven games for Philadelphia this season, allowing three earned runs before the injury.
