Peterson Demoted to Bullpen as Manaea Enters Mets Rotation
New York reshuffles its starting five, with Peterson heading to relief and Manaea slotting in as a starter or bulk-innings arm.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed David Peterson is moving to the bullpen for the second time this season. Sean Manaea will take Peterson's rotation spot, though the team hasn't decided if he'll be a traditional starter or pitch bulk innings behind an opener. Peterson carries a 5.52 ERA over 53.1 innings this year, hurt largely by a .376 BABIP. His return to the rotation earlier this season was prompted by injuries to Kodai Senga and Clay Holmes.
