Mena Headed for Shoulder Surgery, Out for 2026
Arizona RHP Cristian Mena will miss the entire 2026 season after shoulder surgery, extending his absence to nearly two full years.
Manager Torey Lovullo confirmed Monday that Cristian Mena will undergo shoulder surgery after exhausting all non-surgical options. Mena originally suffered a teres major strain in June 2025, then aggravated the injury over the winter. A throwing program attempted in late April failed to resolve his discomfort. He will spend the full 2026 season on the 60-day injured list.
